Why do I exceptionally respect his success? Because the little immigrant from Serbia, who during the first days in America thought that he had to survive, and who made a big company from nothing. Everybody will be accepted everywhere, but he learned other truth; that everybody wants to help you while you are poor, while you are an outsider, but the moment you succeed, everybody wants to pull down.

Zoran Drakulić is the founder and the owner of East Point Holdings Limited and the DSS'official, one of the most powerful Serbian people.

He was born in 1953, in Ljubljana, but from the third year he enjoyed his childhood in the old part of Belgrade-Dorćol. He graduated in 1978 from The Faculty of Economics of Belgrade University. The economy became his specialty.
He was an active sportsman, pioneer swimming champion, member of the national team, the president of water-polo club "Crvena Zvezda" in the period from1990 to 1993 that held the champion title.
He is one of founder of East Point Holdings Ltd with the basic company in Cyprus and the owner of more companies in the areas of milling and baking industries, and copper and brass mills Sevojno as well as the factory of cables. Also, he is the founder of The Serbian-American Center
/SAC/ that was founded in Belgrade in August 2002 in response to the recognition of development of the US and Serbian relations.
He is a Serbian businessman who has made a business empire in foreign countries. He financed democratic forces in Serbia and he came to Serbia in October 2000.

After finishing University studies, he got employed in the Commercial Division of Generalexport. From 1982 to 1989 he was the financial manager at Genex company Yugo-Arab which firstly operated in Lebanon. Because of the War it was moved to Cyprus and as one of first off-shore companies it covered Middle East business activities.
After his return from Cyprus, he worked at Genex Bank, and he held contacts with large banks and financial oranisations. In the middle of the 1990, East Point Holdings Ltd was established on Cyprus as the basic company.
It is an international trading company dealing with raw materials and the products from various geographical areas. The main trading activities: grains and agricultural products (wheat, maise, sunflower, soybeans), raw materials, semi products and the finished products from the ferrous industry (iron, steel), non-ferrous industry (coper, nickel), precious metals (gold, silver), oil and oil products, textile, timber... etc.
It has the technical know-how and experience to design, manage and build large and complex projects. It has been involved in the financing of large projects by the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development.

The group has offices at the folowing locations: Cyprus, Kazakhstan, China, Serbia, Romania, Hungary, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, USA, Bulgaria.

East Point Holdings Ltd. has owned a subsidary and maintained a representative office in Belgrade since 1990.Its business is mainly exporting of grains and non-ferrous metals and its semi-products. Bozidar Djelic was one of the most succesful members of the first democratic government of Serbia after the overthrow of the regime of S.Milosevic. Djelic was ranked as the most trusted minister of the Serbian Government by a survey over a three year period.
He graduated in High Commercial Studies in France. After that he got two master’s degrees from Harvard. One was MBA (Master of Business Administration) and the second was MPA (Master of Public Administration). He actually specialized in finance, marketing and economic policy making. He speaks fluent Serbian, French and English and has good knowledge of Russian, Polish and German.
Djelic has a successful career. Among other things, he was adviser to the Russian government in Moscow and to the Polish government in Warsaw. Furthermore, he was adviser in numerous sectors including media,electronic commerce, financial institutions and private equity.

It is the 28th April, the day between two holidays, 27th the day of non-existent state Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the 29th - Great Friday. It is one of fine days when all people celebrate these days and enjoy travelling, sports events, spring, natural beauties as well as preparing for Easter. In fact, the majority of companies, institutions, schools in Serbia connected these days in a small vacation. It seems we are one of rare institutions that have a workday during the holiday. I am not being fair. I should not mind the Fair of SMEs and entrepreneurs of Kolubara County economy SPREG II. But can you tell me how many institutions, chambers and companies are working today? Evidently, The Regional Chamber of Economy gave its support to the organisation of SPREG. So, today is not a usual day. I am facing a busy day. I am somewhat earlier at the office than usual, before 7,00. After the first coffee, we gather to discuss all details at once, the rules for every team member.We have the following schedule:- Business meeting between delegations from Kraljevo Region and Valjevo Region at11.00- Financial conference "How to finance development of SME s" with participation of representatives from: Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency, Agency for Development of SMEs, Guarantee Fund, Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Economy and the banks: Exim, Pro credit, National Bank Saving Bank, Vojvodjanska Bank and USAID-IRD.We expect a great number of participants. Before the meeting, we check materials, information, printed identification cards,...My task is to organise and control the second meeting, that takes place in the music hall. Companies are specially interested in financing, how to establish business, new tax regulations, terms of crediting, condition in business and achievements, the measures of economic policy that the Government intend to adopt. I am hurrying with coallegues to school, at 12,00. The guests are slowly coming, and so are representatives of companies.We strive to ensure all lectures, and meeting of company representatives. It is really a good occasion to put questions and hear new things.The audience is listening to the lectures with great interest, only mobiles of some forgetful owners are interrupting the work. I feel that everything is all right. Lecturing and presentations take place from 01.00 to 2.30 PM. I think the companies are satisfied. All participants, about 90 persons, are going away to the Fair.I am so glad the things have passed quite well. So, I think that next year it would be good for me to enjoy a trip with my family and friends.

Every day I get up at 6.00 in the morning and go to work by car or by bus. My company is far from my flat so I spend about 15 minutes for travelling. Sometimes I get up earlier when I go to the country, and check farms and producers of milk.

I work in a dairy company whose name is IMLEK and I am responsible for the quality of milk and production of milk on farms, as an officer for cattle breeding. I also give advice to farmers woh they can improve their work. Sometimes it is good work, but sometimes it is not, because most of the people do not like to do all things that I must tell them. They think it is not important to clear up the mess and keep their enviroment much cleaner. Since we do not have a good quality of milk yet, we have many problems with sanitary inspection and unfortunately sometimes we can find water in milk.

We are collecting about 53.000 l. of milk at the moment, from our countryside, freeze it and then transport to Belograde.This year we are planning to produce more than 18.000.000 l of milk in order to make a bigger profit. If we do not succeed in that, many of us could be fired.

Dear Friends,

I want to describe one of my (not so lucky) days at work.
Well, last Friday I had a terrible day at work. The night before I had got a sore throat and a cough and when the morning came I had to go to work. All day I was absolutely exhausted.

Actually, I have to describe my office and the atmosphere in it. There are six of us (employees), who do different jobs. A lot of loud voices, laughing, noise, telephones (four) allways ring, five of my colleagues smoke and everywhere is smoke from cigarettes. It is like a stock-market!!!

So, I tried to finish all my tasks quickly and asked my director to go home.
I made some phone calls to our clients, to different courts and read my mail. I also took a few proceedings against the Bank's debtors, because I have to resort to court to request the Bank's money, when I can't persuade them to pay back the money. It's easy - at first you must be polite to them and demand the money with a smile on your face; but, at the end a legal action is the only way to achieve yours aims! Well, I have to assure bank's interests.

Finally, when the afternoon came I asked my director to let me go home . She gave me permision and my colleague drove me home in his car, because I didn't have enough strength for walking.

My day at college is dificult to describe because it’s never like other days. However, this is what usually happens: I am always late for lectures, but I am not the only one, everybody is late, including the professors. Of course, we have lessons and they are interesting, we have a good programme to get skills which are important for our future jobs. Professors sometimes organise a small and interesting excursions (we have visited a few Serbian companies and some foreign companies) My group is not big and people are not very sociable, but I have a few friends and I readily spend my time with them.When we have a break, we usually go to the club and relax with coffee. In three weeks we are going to finish with lessons and I think I will miss all of it.
